CMWU, with support from UNICEF, is completing the construction of an additional desalination plant west of Khan Younis (1,200 cubic meters per day) to serve 60,000 displaced persons.
In cooperation with UNICEF, CMWU, having supplied the main equipment for the desalination plant system that had been disassembled at the time from the Rafah area during the bombardment and military incursion, is working to complete the construction and equipping of an additional desalination plant with a capacity of 1,200 cubic meters per day at the site of the water utility's central warehouses west of Khan Younis, which will strengthen the safe drinking water supply system for citizens and displaced persons in the various Mawasi areas west of Khan Younis.
The project will also include constructing and installing a gallon water filling point to serve residents and displaced persons in the areas neighboring the plant, with the number of beneficiaries from the plant expected to reach about 60,000 displaced persons.
