Repair of the Main Rainwater Drainage Culvert in Al-Maghazi Camp

Published on

CMWU, in partnership with the Red Cross, is repairing the main rainwater drainage culvert in Al-Maghazi camp in preparation for winter.

In field coordination with the Water Authority and in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Al-Maghazi Municipality, CMWU is working to repair the main rainwater drainage culvert in Al-Maghazi camp, central Gaza Strip, particularly after it sustained severe damage as a result of Israeli bombardment, as this culvert serves all areas of Al-Maghazi camp and works to safely drain rainwater, preventing rainwater flooding, particularly with the onset of winter.

The work includes installing prefabricated fiberglass pipes as an alternative to the concrete culvert, due to the unavailability of construction materials, and this activity will help facilitate rainwater collection.
