CMWU, with support from Medecins Sans Frontieres Holland, began building a new desalination plant in Beit Lahia (20 cubic meters per hour) fed by the Al-Khansa well.
CMWU, in cooperation with Beit Lahia Municipality and with support from Medecins Sans Frontieres - Holland, began construction works on a new desalination plant with a production capacity of 20 cubic meters per hour in Beit Lahia city.
This comes as part of efforts aimed at providing sources of drinking water and improving its reach to residents. The Al-Khansa water well, which will feed the plant with water, was previously equipped and maintained.
The current works include constructing two 2mm-thick tanks, internally lined with an anti-bacterial PVC layer, one designated for storing water before treatment and the other for desalinated water. The works are expected to be completed during December.
