CMWU's Director-General Conducts an Inspection Tour of Some Projects in Khan Younis Governorate, South of the Gaza Strip

CMWU's Director-General Eng. Monther Shoblaq conducted an inspection tour of some projects being implemented in Khan Younis governorate, south of the Gaza Strip, with the tour beginning with a visit to the project to construct a sanitation network in the European Housing neighborhood in Al-Fukhari town, east of Khan Younis governorate, implemented by CMWU in cooperation with Al-Fukhari Municipality and funded by the Kuwait Fund for Development through the Islamic Development Bank. The tour also included a visit to the rainwater project in Al-Wafaa area in Khan Younis, implemented by CMWU in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality and in coordination with the Water Authority and funded by UNICEF, in addition to inspecting the construction works for the expansion of the Southern seawater desalination plant.
This tour was joined, alongside the Director-General, by the Director of the Projects Supervision Department Eng. Robin Al-Madhloum, Eng. Hossam Al-Hout, and Eng. Ali Al-Shayyah, and the Director-General was received by Al-Fukhari Municipality's Mayor Eng. Salim Al-Amour, the officer of the European Housing neighborhood committee, and the representative of the two projects' implementing company "Abna Shanan Contracting" Eng. Tamer Shanan.
In turn, Eng. Monther Shoblaq affirmed the importance of those projects in order to end the residents' suffering in those areas, which extended for many years, as the European neighborhood area suffers from the absence of a sanitation network and residents' reliance on cesspits, which have become a danger to residents' health and the environment as a result of their continuous collapses, in addition to the suffering of Al-Wafaa area's residents from rainwater flooding during the winter season as a result of the area's significant low elevation, which endangers residents' lives and property.
