Beginning the Development of Emergency Warehouses Spread Across Various Areas of the Gaza Strip
Gaza – CMWU
As part of strengthening readiness to work during emergencies, particularly wars, CMWU, supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began developing the emergency warehouses spread across various areas of the Gaza Strip, as these warehouses proved during previous wars their effectiveness in contributing to easing the repercussions of Israeli bombardment on water and sanitation facilities and repairing them, with this project including constructing new warehouses and developing existing ones to accommodate work needs during emergencies and wartime.
It is worth noting that these warehouses contain the spare parts needed to maintain water and sanitation networks and facilities that might be damaged during emergencies.
This comes as part of strengthening the emergency readiness plan prepared and developed by CMWU, the Water Authority, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the municipalities of the Gaza Strip.
These warehouses were previously replenished, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, with the materials used during the war of May last year, and new materials were added that the need for emerged through previous experiences.
