Beginning Implementation of Phase One of the Rehabilitation Project for "Amer" Sewage Pumping Station West of Beit Lahia

CMWU, in cooperation with Beit Lahia Municipality and funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began implementing Phase One of the rehabilitation of "Amer" sewage pumping station near Al-Rashid Street, west of Beit Lahia city, north of the Gaza Strip, with Phase One's works including a complete rehabilitation of the station's manifold and installing new valves to absorb pressure and release air, in order to provide protection to the station's sewage pressure transmission line and ensure that health hazards and sewage overflow on the seashore do not occur, particularly during the summer season.

In this context, a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross visited "Amer" pumping station to closely observe the progress of Phase One of the project, where they were received by Eng. Omar Shatat, CMWU's Deputy Executive Director for Operations and Maintenance Affairs, Eng. Fahed Al-Khatib, Head of the Networks and Pumping Stations Operation and Maintenance Section, and Eng. Omar Abu Mahadi, Head of the Sanitation Section at Beit Lahia Municipality.
