Beginning Implementation of the Development and Expansion Project for Jamizat Al-Sabeel Sewage Pumping Station in Rafah
Gaza – CMWU
CMWU, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began implementing the development and expansion project for Jamizat Al-Sabeel sewage pumping station in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, aiming to raise its efficiency and capacity and strengthen its ability to operate, particularly during peak hours, and to prevent sewage overflow and the formation of health hazards, particularly during the rainy season.
The project's works include developing the pumping system by increasing the number of pumps at the station and constructing a new pump room, in addition to a sedimentation room and a sand removal unit to maintain pump efficiency, as sand negatively affects their operation, and installing a new manifold for the station.
