Beginning the Construction of Sanitation Networks in Various Streets of Khan Younis City
Gaza – CMWU
CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality and funded by Anera, began constructing sanitation networks in various streets in the Jourat Al-Lut and Qa' Al-Qarin areas, in addition to Batn Al-Sameen and Qizan Al-Najjar in Khan Younis city, south of the Gaza Strip, with these networks about 2,500m long and of various diameters, serving 5,000 residents of those areas.
The project includes constructing sanitation networks in those streets in addition to removing the cesspits present in them, and closing off old cesspits that had become a danger to residents' health and the environment.
It is worth noting that CMWU had previously constructed a sanitation network in the Street No. 9 area west of Gaza city and Al-Hurriya Street, 1,000 meters long, and also constructed a sanitation network in various areas of Beit Hanoun town, north of the Gaza Strip, in the Al-Nazaza and Al-Masriyeen areas and other various areas of the town, particularly places lacking a safe sanitation system, in addition to constructing a sanitation network in Al-Orouba neighborhood in Al-Fukhari, east of Khan Younis governorate, and Al-Furqan neighborhood in Rafah city.
