Maintenance of Sheikh Zayed water well in Beit Lahia and bringing it back into service after its pump malfunctioned, as part of the Red Cross-funded wells maintenance project, serving about 13,000 people.
As part of the project to maintain and rehabilitate water wells, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, CMWU, in cooperation with Beit Lahia Municipality, carried out maintenance on Sheikh Zayed water well in Beit Lahia city, north of the Gaza Strip, aiming to bring the well back into service after it was out of operation for several days as a result of the complete malfunction of the pump, by installing a new submersible pump for the well. This well serves about 13,000 residents of east Beit Lahia city.
It is worth noting that CMWU had, during the past few days, rehabilitated the eastern F205 water well in Wadi Gaza town and the F203 water well in Al-Maghraqa town, central Gaza Strip, in addition to maintaining the G49 well in the Abu Mahadi area in Nuseirat and Al-Muntazah water well in Al-Bureij, and also carried out maintenance on Al-Baraka and Al-Ahrash wells in Khan Younis.
