Completing the Implementation of the Al-Fukhari Rainwater Collection Basin Rehabilitation and Development Project
Gaza - CMWU
CMWU, in partnership with Save the Children, has completed implementing the project to rehabilitate and develop the Al-Fukhari rainwater collection basin in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.
The project included cleaning the basin with the aim of strengthening the basin's filtration capacity and constructing a fence around the basin, in order to protect residents, especially children, from the risk of falling into the basin.
The project also included constructing a rainwater line for the "Sha'at" rainwater collection basin in Khan Younis city, with the aim of transferring rainwater from areas exposed to flooding to the collection basin and easing the severity of weather depressions, and protecting residents and their properties from the risks of rainwater flooding, especially in the neighborhoods in the southeast of the city, and also included solving the rainwater problem at two spots in the surrounding area on Abu Sror Street in Bani Suheila.
This comes with funding from Save the Children and in cooperation with Khan Younis and Al-Fukhari municipalities.
