Completing the Rehabilitation and Cleaning of Rainwater Collection Chambers and Filters in Rafah Governorate

CMWU completed the rehabilitation and cleaning of rainwater collection chambers and filters in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, with those works aiming to remove dust, debris, and sediment accumulated in those chambers and filters, to ensure they operate as required and to address problems that might arise before the onset of the rainy season.
These works come as part of CMWU's program and plan, through which it seeks to strengthen the rainwater drainage and sanitation system and address all problems before the onset of winter, in order to protect residents and their homes from flooding as a result of rainwater overflow, with CMWU's crews in Rafah having inspected and maintained all water and sanitation networks and prepared all treatment plants and pumping stations, in addition to cleaning rainwater collection basins, as well as preparing mobile pumps and vacuum trucks, which are used in pumping out water that might accumulate in low-lying areas that do not have sanitation and water networks.
