CMWU, in partnership with EcoPeace, completed the rehabilitation of the new Al-Matahen and Abu Mrezeq wells in Al-Qarara, benefiting about 80,000 people.
Rehabilitation of the New Al-Matahen and Abu Mrezeq Wells to Strengthen Water Supply in Al-Qarara
CMWU, in cooperation with EcoPeace Middle East and Al-Qarara Municipality, completed the rehabilitation of the new Al-Matahen well, which had been completely destroyed in the Al-Qarara area, as part of efforts aimed at strengthening water sources and improving their reach to residents and displaced persons.
The works included carrying out the necessary electromechanical maintenance for the pump and manifold, supplying and installing a new electrical panel, and constructing a metal canopy to protect the well's components. A metal canopy was also installed to protect the components of the Abu Mrezeq well.
These works are part of strengthening water sources in the western areas densely populated with displaced persons, where the Al-Qarara Mawasi areas will be supplied with water through the new Al-Matahen well. The project is expected to benefit about 80,000 people, contributing to improving water access and easing residents' suffering amid the current humanitarian conditions.
