Supplying 4 Water Wells with Solar Power in Gaza City

Funded by UNICEF and in partnership with CMWU, 4 water wells in Gaza city were supplied with solar cells with a production capacity estimated at about 500 kilowatts, at a total cost of $600,000, as part of the project to reduce public health risks and environmental pollution through solar power systems to operate drinking water wells, connected at four locations in Gaza city: Al-Muntar reservoir, Sheikh Radwan reservoir, the Civil Defense reservoir, and Al-Safa reservoir.
This project aims primarily to rationalize the energy used and improve the operating efficiency of the four targeted locations, with the project serving about 51,000 people.
It is worth noting that this project comes as part of a series of projects implemented by CMWU to improve energy use efficiency by providing renewable energy for water and sanitation facilities.
