CMWU, with support from UNICEF, installed new chlorination pumps at water wells in several municipalities to improve drinking water quality and protect public health.
As part of ongoing efforts to improve drinking water quality and ensure the delivery of safe, usable water, CMWU, in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), implemented a project to install new chlorination pumps at a number of water wells across the municipalities and areas of the Gaza Strip.
The project aims to strengthen water disinfection processes and ensure the maintenance of safe residual chlorine levels, in line with approved health standards, in order to reduce contamination risks and protect public health, particularly given the difficult conditions facing the Gaza Strip and the growing challenges facing the water sector.
The intervention included supplying, installing, and operating modern chlorination pumps, ensuring the sustainability of operation and long-term performance efficiency, and contributing to developing the disinfection system and raising the level of reliability in well operation.
Most municipalities benefited from this intervention, which had a positive impact on improving the quality of water supplied to citizens and strengthening water safety measures on a wide scale.
This step is part of a comprehensive plan aimed at developing water services and strengthening water safety measures for residents, contributing to protecting children and families and ensuring their access to safe, clean water.
