Gaza – CMWU
As part of the works of the project to maintain and rehabilitate sewage pumping stations, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, CMWU installed an additional, third pump at "Tal Al-Sultan" sewage pumping station in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, aiming to develop it, raise its efficiency, and strengthen its readiness to operate during the winter season, as it is considered one of the main stations in Rafah governorate and serves about 50,000 people.
CMWU also replaced the worn-out pumps and installed new pumps for Block 8 sewage station in Al-Bureij camp, central Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, CMWU completed cleaning a number of sanitation stations of sand and debris to maintain the pumps' efficiency and operation, in preparation for receiving the winter season, with the cleaning works including Tal Al-Sultan and UNDP stations, and work is underway to clean Al-Jineina neighborhood and Jamizat Al-Sabeel stations in Rafah.
