Supply and Installation of Electric Generators for Water and Sanitation Facilities
CMWU, supported by UNICEF, is working on supplying and installing 13 electric power generators, aiming to install these generators at water wells and boost their production capacity.
It is worth noting that amid the continuing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, electric power generators are the only source of electric power to operate water wells, sewage pumping stations, and desalination plants, amid the complete electricity outage affecting the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.
CMWU continues to work in cooperation with the municipalities of the Gaza Strip to repair the damage sustained by water and sanitation networks and facilities, in order to continue supplying residents with water and sanitation services and prevent the collapse of this vital sector, by working to provide spare parts from CMWU's warehouses and the emergency warehouses funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, in addition to CMWU's crews supporting the emergency teams affiliated with the municipalities of the Gaza Strip in carrying out various emergency maintenance works.
