Implementing a Project to Maintain 20 Desalination Units and Install Solar Cell Units.

Funded by OCHA and in cooperation between Action Against Hunger (ACF) and CMWU, 20 groundwater desalination units were maintained and integrated solar cell units were installed at a total cost of $280,000, distributed across several areas in the Gaza Strip's governorates (Al-Fukhari, Rafah, Khan Younis, Al-Masdar, Deir al-Balah, Al-Shawka). The total capacity of the cells is estimated at 200 kilowatts, i.e., 20 kilowatts per cell, to improve the productivity of these units, which are considered the main source of desalinated water in those areas. It is expected that operating these plants in the aforementioned areas using solar power will ensure the continuation of the desalination plants' operation permanently, thus improving the water services provided to the residents of the targeted areas, noting that the number of beneficiaries from the plant is about 100,000 people.
