Assessment of the J32 Groundwater Desalination Plant in Deir al-Balah Ahead of Its Operation

CMWU is assessing the J32 groundwater desalination plant in Deir al-Balah, out of service since 2022, ahead of restoring it to operation (45 cubic meters per hour).

CMWU and Deir al-Balah Municipality began assessing the J32 groundwater desalination plant in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, as this plant has been out of service since 2022, and the water utility is working to operate the plant to contribute to increasing the quantity of desalinated water serving the residents of Deir al-Balah and displaced persons, with the plant capable of desalinating 45 cubic meters/hour.

The water utility and its partners will work to secure the funding and materials needed to repair the plant.
