Rehabilitating and developing the sewage pumping station in Al-Maghraqa town, funded by the German government through GIZ, to protect Gaza Valley from pollution.
CMWU began rehabilitating and developing the sewage pumping station in Al-Maghraqa town, central Gaza Strip, in order to raise its efficiency and strengthen its readiness to operate, particularly during the winter season, to prevent the formation of health hazards harmful to the environment and health of Al-Maghraqa's residents, in addition to preventing sewage water from reaching Gaza Valley and continuing to pollute it, amid the efforts of CMWU, the municipalities, and the relevant national and international organizations to implement some programs and projects that will contribute to cleaning Gaza Valley and converting it into a nature reserve.
This comes as part of the emergency repair and maintenance program linked to combating the coronavirus, implemented by CMWU in cooperation with the German development organization GIZ, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
