CMWU, in partnership with the Red Cross, maintained the Al-Zawayda well (50 cubic meters per hour) and installed a new submersible pump, serving 12,000 people.
CMWU, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, carried out comprehensive maintenance works on the Al-Zawayda water well located in the central Gaza Strip, as part of ongoing efforts to improve water access for residents amid emergency conditions.
The maintenance works included supplying and installing a new submersible pump with a capacity of 25 horsepower, replacing the damaged pump, in addition to carrying out complete electrical maintenance to operate the pump and ensure the well's efficient operation.
This well serves about 12,000 people, with a production capacity of 50 cubic meters per hour, and is one of the essential sources for supplying the area with water.
This vital intervention comes amid extremely complex humanitarian conditions resulting from the war, which has cast its shadow over infrastructure, particularly the water sector, as these efforts contribute to strengthening residents' resilience and ensuring the continuity of essential services.
