Amid the exceptional conditions facing the Gaza Strip, and the continuing war that has cast its heavy shadow over every aspect of life, CMWU continues its emergency efforts to ensure the continuity of essential services, having carried out, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Khan Younis Municipality, the necessary maintenance works on the pump of the rainwater collection pond in Al-Amal neighborhood.

This intervention is part of a series of urgent measures and interventions the Utility is implementing across all areas of the Strip, aiming to strengthen the resilience of water and sanitation facilities, and ensure the minimum level of service for residents amid the current crisis.

The maintenance works carried out aim to reduce the level of water accumulated in the pond basin, which poses a direct threat to residents in the area, where water was pumped toward the infiltration basins located northwest of the pond, as part of a carefully studied technical plan to efficiently manage rainwater amid limited resources.
