Maintenance of a Main Water Line on Street 8 South of Gaza City to Improve Water Supply for 70,000 People
CMWU, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Gaza Municipality, carried out maintenance and development works on the main water line on Street 8 south of Gaza City, as part of ongoing efforts to improve water services in vital, densely populated areas.
The works included excavation and extending a new water network about 500 meters long, serving the area extending from Salah Al-Din Street eastward to the Sea (Al-Rasheed) Street westward, an area inhabited by about 70,000 people.
The project aims to raise the network's efficiency and increase the number of beneficiaries of Mekorot water in the area.
This project is part of the water utility's plan to improve infrastructure and expand water coverage, contributing to strengthening the response to citizens' growing needs, particularly amid the current challenges facing the water sector in the Gaza Strip as a result of the harsh conditions imposed by the Israeli war.
