CMWU, with support from the Red Cross, maintained a number of water wells in northern and southern Gaza, including Nabaa Al-Khair, Al-Karaj, Al-Basha, Al-Firouz, K21, and Al-Ihsan.
CMWU Carries Out Maintenance on a Number of Water Wells with Support from the International Committee of the Red Cross
CMWU, with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), carried out maintenance work on a number of water wells in the northern and southern areas of the Gaza Strip, aiming to strengthen their operational efficiency and maintain the continuity of water services, given the current conditions and the growing need for water, particularly with rising temperatures during the summer.
The maintenance work covered the Nabaa Al-Khair well, the Al-Karaj well, and the Al-Basha well in Gaza City, in addition to the Al-Firouz well and the K21 well in Deir al-Balah, and the Al-Ihsan well in the Khan Younis Mawasi area. These wells serve large numbers of residents and displaced persons in the surrounding areas, with their production capacities varying according to the nature and operational capability of each well.
These interventions are part of urgent, life-saving response programs aimed at maintaining the minimum possible level of water services for residents and displaced persons, by making use of available materials and equipment and reusing what can be reused, amid the continued restrictions on bringing equipment, materials, and spare parts into the Gaza Strip.
