A joint delegation from CMWU and the International Committee of the Red Cross visited the sewage treatment plant affiliated with Gaza Municipality in Sheikh Ajleen area in Gaza city, with this visit aiming to review the coronavirus-related precautionary measures followed at the treatment plant, which aim to protect the plant's workers from the novel coronavirus.
The delegation included Eng. Mo'taz Abu Al-Qumbuz representing CMWU, while the International Committee of the Red Cross was represented by Mr. "Ben Moon", the Committee's water and housing officer, Eng. Islam Al-Bouji, and Eng. Abdullah Younis, and they were received by Eng. Ramzi Ahl, Director-General of Water and Sanitation at Gaza Municipality, in addition to Eng. Hisham Abu Al-Qumbuz, Director of the treatment plant, and Eng. Imran Al-Dahdouh, Head of the Operations Department at the plant.
In this context, the two parties discussed ways to strengthen the effectiveness of the coronavirus-related precautionary measures followed inside the treatment plant and work to provide new protective means for the plant's workers.
