An engineering delegation from CMWU, in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross, carried out a field visit to Al-Mughraqa town and Al-Zahra city, to review the state of water facilities damaged by the war, and discuss mechanisms for their rehabilitation and repair.
This visit is part of joint efforts to assess the scale of damage sustained by the water sector's infrastructure, and identify urgent technical needs, contributing to developing appropriate intervention mechanisms to restore the damaged facilities to operation and improve the level of services provided to residents.
It is worth noting that the water and sanitation facilities in Al-Zahra city and Al-Mughraqa town sustained widespread destruction during the war, leading to their complete shutdown, which worsened the humanitarian and service conditions in both areas.
