CMWU transported an electric generator to power a well pump in Al-Sumoud camp, Rafah, serving over 30,000 displaced persons who had been without a water source.

CMWU transported and operated a 65 kVA electric power generator in Al-Sumoud camp, which comprises several shelter camps in the Rafah services area in Al-Mawasi, in order to power a submersible pump with a capacity of (20HP).

This intervention aims to serve more than 30,000 residents and displaced persons, who had suffered greatly due to the lack of an electricity source to power the water well, causing an acute shortage of water supply during the past period.

This step is part of the Utility's ongoing efforts to ensure the continuity of water services and improve humanitarian conditions in densely populated shelter areas, amid the difficult conditions facing the area.
