CMWU supplied Jabalia and Beit Lahia municipalities with all the materials needed to enable the two municipalities' crews to maintain the sewage transmission line from Amer pump to Hawaber pump, with the necessary pipes, valves, and spare parts, in addition to some of CMWU's heavy equipment, in order to complete the maintenance process.
This line is considered one of the most important main lines in the sanitation system, serving the area shared between the two municipalities, through which sewage water coming from Al-Tawam neighborhoods, the Amer project, and Al-Karama is drained, with this intervention aiming to protect residents in the area adjacent to that line from the risks of sewage overflow and the health hazards it might cause.
It is worth noting that all of CMWU's crews, since the declaration of the state of emergency and the imposition of the curfew in the Gaza Strip, have been closely following up on the maintenance and operation needs of all water and sanitation facilities, in coordination and cooperation with the Gaza Strip's municipalities, amid the difficult circumstances the Strip is going through and with what is available at CMWU's warehouses.
