CMWU Manages to Solve the Mosquito Infestation Problem in the Area of the Treatment Plant North of Gaza
CMWU has managed to solve the mosquito infestation problem in the area surrounding the sewage treatment plant north of Gaza, in coordination and cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority, the Municipality, and the Muslim Hands organization.
CMWU responded to the appeal of the Mayor of Jabalia and residents of the area surrounding the treatment plant to intervene and provide assistance to solve this problem, after continuous complaints and appeals submitted by residents to the Municipality, whereupon colleagues at CMWU from the Freshwater Plants Operation Department rushed to go to Jabalia Municipality and closely follow up on the problem and discuss possible solutions with specialists from the Municipality and the Palestinian Water Authority, and provide assistance according to its available capabilities.
In this context, CMWU provided the chemical materials necessary to eliminate mosquitoes with support from Muslim Hands, and also provided a tractor to tow spraying pumps and provided the fuel necessary to operate the machinery and pumps.
It is noted that the reason for the mosquito infestation in the area is due to the slow filtration process of treated water and its accumulation in the basins due to the aging of the basins, and there are procedures in coordination with the Water Authority to carry out maintenance and rehabilitation of the basins to solve the problem permanently.
