CMWU Receives the Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory

CMWU received the Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Ms. Lynn Hastings, at the seawater desalination plant south of the Gaza Strip, with the aim of learning about the progress of the plant's expansion project to become able to serve a larger number of residents of Rafah and Khan Younis cities, in addition to the most important challenges facing the plant's operation.
The visiting delegation included the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator Mr. Andrea De Domenico. They were received by CMWU's Executive Director Eng. Monther Shoblaq and representatives of UNICEF.
For his part, Eng. Monther Shoblaq welcomed the Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory and her accompanying delegation, affirming the importance of the seawater desalination plant in improving the water service for the residents of Rafah and Khan Younis cities, especially amid the continuation of its expansion project to become able to serve a larger number of residents of the targeted areas, and also pointed to the efforts made by CMWU and the Water Authority in partnership with numerous international institutions, which led, over the past years, to a qualitative improvement in water and sanitation services for most areas in the Gaza Strip.
