CMWU's Board Chairman Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan received His Excellency Palestinian Water Authority Chairman Eng. Mazen Ghanem and his accompanying delegation, at CMWU's main headquarters in Al-Zahra city, in the middle of the Gaza Strip, in the presence of CMWU's Executive Director Eng. Monther Shoblaq, his Deputy for Operations and Maintenance Affairs Eng. Omar Shatat, his Deputy for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Mamdouh Al-Ghazali, and KfW Projects Management Director Eng. Maher Al-Najjar.

For his part, Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan welcomed His Excellency the Water Authority Chairman and his accompanying delegation, affirming that CMWU coordinates continuously and consistently with the Water Authority to reach the establishment of the regional facility in the Gaza Strip in accordance with the law, with agreement on the transitional arrangements aimed at achieving this goal, pointing out that there is ongoing discussion with all the Gaza Strip's municipalities in order to join CMWU to strengthen the scope of its work and the coverage of its services, and benefit from previous experiences to form a body that provides water and sanitation services in a unified manner throughout the Strip.

For his part, Water Authority Chairman Eng. Mazen Ghanem affirmed the importance of cooperation with CMWU in order to develop the water and sanitation sector in the Gaza Strip and improve the level of services, pointing out that the coming stage will witness important developments at the level of project implementation and the services provided to residents.

Eng. Ghanem also explained that the discussions currently focus on institutional reform and governance processes in the water and sanitation sector, including establishing specialized institutions in accordance with the powers and tasks stipulated in the 2014 Water Law.
