CMWU Repairs Sanitation Lines Around Al-Indonesi Hospital
CMWU, with generous funding from UNICEF, carried out urgent repair works on damaged sanitation lines and manholes around Al-Indonesi Hospital, north of the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with Jabalia and Beit Lahia Municipalities.
This rapid intervention came after receiving reports from the Al-Indonesi Hospital administration and a number of citizens indicating sewage leaking toward one of the nearby water wells, causing water contamination and posing a direct threat to the health and safety of residents in the area.
The project serves about 10,000 residents of the area, and the works included repairing and replacing worn-out manholes and addressing the damage sustained by the sanitation network, aiming to stop the leak and prevent the worsening of environmental and health damage.
CMWU affirmed that this intervention is part of ongoing efforts to improve sanitation services and protect water sources from contamination, particularly in densely populated areas, praising UNICEF's role in supporting the water and sanitation sector in the Gaza Strip.
