Beginning the laying of a 6 km conveyance line from the seawater desalination plant to the Sheikh Radwan reservoir at a cost of $1 million, serving 270,000 residents in western Gaza.
CMWU has begun implementing the activities of the project "Laying the Conveyance Line from the Seawater Desalination Plant to the Sheikh Radwan Water Reservoir," with a total length of 6 kilometers and a cost of $1 million. The project aims to transfer desalinated water from the plant to the "Sheikh Radwan" blending reservoir, with this phase considered part of the seawater desalination project for Gaza city, with a production capacity of 10 thousand cubic meters/day, and the number of beneficiaries of the project is estimated at about 270 thousand residents, serving western Gaza city (Al-Nasr and Sheikh Radwan neighborhoods), with the conveyance line activities expected to be completed during August 2016. The project is funded by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development to support the Palestinian people, managed by the Islamic Development Bank.
