CMWU Participates in a Preparatory Workshop for the International Conference on Managing Health Crises and Disasters in the Gaza Strip.
CMWU participated in the preparatory workshop for the international conference on managing health crises and disasters in the Gaza Strip, held by the Haya Center for Emergency and Crisis Management Training and the Islamic University's Faculty of Medicine, in the presence of a number of experts and specialists and representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Water Authority, health unions, the Qatari Red Crescent, and numerous institutions.
CMWU was represented by Eng. Ashraf Ghanem, Director of the Occupational Health and Safety Department at the Utility, who expressed the Utility's appreciation for these efforts aiming to shed light on this important aspect related to crisis and disaster management, particularly amid the difficult conditions the Gaza Strip is going through, also affirming CMWU's contribution with a working paper at the conference specific to crisis and disaster management in the environmental and health aspect, through which it will present the success model the Utility has achieved in this aspect.
The importance of the conference, planned to be held on the tenth of next November, stems from it forming an additional building block contributing to setting a strategic plan adopted by active institutions to confront the risks of crises and disasters, whether resulting from wars or natural factors, as the conference also contributes to increasing networking and coordinating efforts to confront crises, whether at the relief, environmental, or health level, and presenting psychosocial support programs and working to provide support to service sectors amid the current crises in the Gaza Strip.
