CMWU Continues Implementing the Sewage Transmission Line Construction Project in Khan Younis
Gaza – CMWU
CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality, continues implementing the project to construct a sewage transmission line from PS3 sewage pumping station in Al-Wafaa neighborhood to Al-Orouba pumping station "No. 8", 3.3 kilometers long and 600mm in diameter, in order to transport sewage water to the Central Treatment Plant east of Khan Younis governorate, funded by the Kuwait Fund for Development through the Islamic Development Bank.
It is worth noting that the old line's capacity is insufficient to transport sewage water, resulting in the discharge of large quantities of sewage water to the temporary treatment plant in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis.
The project is expected to be completed within 6 months, and it will also contribute to beginning the closure of the temporary treatment plant west of Khan Younis and improving the environmental situation in Khan Younis governorate. The project's value is $1 million and it serves about 250,000 people.
