CMWU Continues Work on Building a Desalination Plant in Jabalia
CMWU, with support from Action Against Hunger and in cooperation with Jabalia Municipality, continues work on building a new desalination plant in Jabalia city, specifically in the Abu Shurkh area next to the old municipality building.
The project includes constructing the desalination plant with all its facilities, alongside developing the existing water well, with the plant's expected production capacity being about 35 cubic meters per hour, which will contribute to strengthening drinking water supplies in the area.
A dedicated filling point for CMWU's water tankers will also be constructed, to facilitate the process of supplying residents and displaced persons with drinking water and ensure a rapid response to the growing needs in the target areas.
The plant is expected to serve the residents and displaced persons of Jabalia city, Beit Lahia, and north Gaza City, particularly given the difficult humanitarian conditions facing the area and the growing need to provide safe water sources.
This project is being implemented as part of CMWU's efforts to respond urgently to humanitarian needs and work to reduce the water scarcity crisis resulting from the significant damage sustained by infrastructure during the war, strengthening the resilience of citizens and displaced persons and supporting the continuity of essential service delivery.
