CMWU Continues the Construction of Water Wells in Deir al-Balah, Al-Maghazi, and Khan Younis
CMWU continued the works of the project to construct three water wells in Deir al-Balah, Al-Maghazi, and Khan Younis, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through UNICEF, with the project's cost reaching $356,000.
After completing the drilling phase, CMWU began implementing the construction and electromechanical works for the three wells, with the project's works expected to be fully completed within three months.
Eng. Ramadan Naeem, Director of the Projects Implementation and Supervision Department, explained that the three-well drilling project comes within a group of projects implemented by CMWU aimed at improving water supply services for residents in the Gaza Strip, and Naeem added that the Al-Maghazi and Deir al-Balah wells were constructed as support for the existing wells and to improve water supply services, while the Khan Younis well was constructed as a replacement for the well feeding the Eastern desalination plant, which was removed as part of the Salah Al-Din Street expansion project.
It is noted that CMWU has also begun implementing another group of projects funded by USAID through UNICEF, consisting of supplying water and sanitation networks in Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah.
