CMWU supplied the new quarantine center in Deir al-Balah city, central Gaza Strip, with drinking water, with the supply process carried out using the desalinated water tankers affiliated with the seawater desalination plant in Deir al-Balah city, which deliver water to the center through a transmission line previously prepared outside the boundaries of the quarantine center.
In addition, CMWU's crews daily empty the sewage basin at the quarantine center in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, and transfer it to the sewage treatment plant, with this process carried out following all coronavirus-related precautionary and safety procedures.
These interventions come in the context of CMWU's efforts aimed at strengthening precautionary measures related to the novel coronavirus, with CMWU having, during the past month, connected water lines to the new quarantine center in Deir al-Balah, aiming to supply residents who will be quarantined inside the center with water suitable for their various needs, in addition to extending water and sanitation networks to the field hospital west of Rafah, south of the Strip, which has been prepared to receive coronavirus patients.
