CMWU Holds a Training Course for Workers in the Water and Sanitation Sector.
Gaza - As part of CMWU's keenness to develop the performance of crews working in the water and sanitation sector, and in continuation of the training programs the Utility periodically holds, CMWU opened a new training course to train field crews on using leak detection devices in networks, with this training course coming as part of the partnership and cooperation with the German Development Bank KfW.
The course includes several applied and practical aspects and a number of field visits to water facilities and desalination plants affiliated with CMWU, and aims to raise the efficiency of workers in the water and sanitation sector, particularly technicians working in operating and maintaining drinking water distribution systems, with the course continuing for four intensive days.
CMWU's Director-General Eng. Monther Shoblaq affirmed, in his opening speech for the training course, the importance of this qualitative course in raising the efficiency and capabilities of workers in the water and sanitation sector, and increasing their experience and sharpening their skills in the technical and professional aspects.
Shoblaq also praised the role of the institutions and partner bodies in this training course, and praised the great interest shown by the German Development Bank KfW in supporting the water and sanitation sector and continuously supporting qualitative projects, and also thanked the participants from the Gaza Strip's municipalities, affirming that the attendance and participation prove the municipalities' keenness on upgrading their cadres in a way that benefits the quality of the service provided to residents, wishing this training course to fully achieve its desired goals, noting the continuation of CMWU's efforts to hold more courses in the coming period.
It is worth noting that CMWU recently launched several training programs specific to raising the efficiency of workers in the water and sanitation sector, in cooperation with the Palestinian Water Service Providers Union, with dozens of trainees from the Gaza Strip's various municipalities participating, covering several important administrative and technical topics.
