CMWU's Rafah Regional Headquarters Holds Training and Educational Workshops for Its Cadres and Employees

Educational and training workshops for the headquarters' employees and cadres were held yesterday at CMWU's regional headquarters in Rafah governorate and at the sewage treatment station in Tal Al-Sultan, with the workshops aiming to train the sanitation and treatment plant crews, in addition to the field employee team for water network distribution and maintenance and public reception and security staff, on safety procedures and the use of various protective equipment and personal disinfection methods and facility disinfection, to confront the globally spreading coronavirus pandemic.
The training was supervised by Dr. Ayman Abu Rahma, Head of the Epidemiology Department, and Dr. Fawwaz Abu Ziyada, Director of Primary Care in Rafah governorate.
In turn, Dr. Eng. Mohammed Al-Abwaini, Director of the regional headquarters, said that these workshops aim to ensure the safety of workers in the water and sanitation sector and preserve water and sanitation facilities and installations, adding that this step comes as a precautionary and preventive measure to confront the globally spreading coronavirus, following up on the bulletins issued by the Water Authority and CMWU and circulated to workers in water and sanitation services regarding the steps that must be followed to confront the coronavirus pandemic and protect individuals and facilities from any sources of contamination and infection, such as disinfecting water facilities and protecting them from contamination, in line with the World Health Organization's publications and instructions on the matter.
Eng. Al-Abwaini noted that these workshops and activities were documented to be educational material that will be distributed to the relevant bodies concerned.
