Rafah's sewage treatment plant receives up to 20,000 m3 of sewage water daily, supported by a 300-kilowatt solar power unit.
A glimpse of the daily works carried out by CMWU's crews at the regional headquarters in Rafah governorate at the sewage treatment plant, with the plant receiving between 15,000 and 20,000 cubic meters of sewage water daily, treating it, and safely pumping it to the sea, in addition to disinfecting the treatment plant, in accordance with the instructions of the World Health Organization and the relevant government bodies.
It is worth noting that CMWU, in order to ensure the continued operation of the plant's electromechanical system, has relied on an alternative energy source by installing a 300-kilowatt solar cell unit.
Amid the current crisis the Gaza Strip is going through as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions on all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip, CMWU's crews at its regional headquarters in Rafah continue to work around the clock in order to continue providing services to residents in Rafah governorate.
