A field technical inspection tour of water and sanitation facilities ahead of an energy efficiency project funded by the German KfW Bank, targeting 85 facilities.
As part of preparing for the project to raise energy efficiency at water and sanitation facilities in the Gaza Strip, funded by the German Development Bank KfW, a technical team from CMWU and the German consulting office Dorsch conducted a field technical inspection tour of a number of water and sanitation facilities in various areas of the Gaza Strip. The project targets 85 water and sanitation facilities out of 540 facilities.
The project includes replacing the pumps of those facilities and correcting their power factor, in addition to installing variable speed drives and installing solar power systems.
The project also aims to raise the efficiency of those facilities by improving energy efficiency and reducing the operating cost of those facilities and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by using clean alternative energy.
It is worth noting that the project is now in the data collection and analysis stage and design preparation by the German consulting office Dorsch, in cooperation with CMWU.
