As a continuation of the efforts aimed at repairing the damage of the recent Israeli war in May of last year, and toward repair for the better, CMWU, in cooperation with Beit Lahia Municipality and funded by Action Against Hunger (ACF), will begin eliminating the Sheikh Zayed rainwater collection basin in Beit Lahia city, which sustained severe damage as a result of direct bombardment, replacing it with a gravity line with a set of rainwater catch basins and connecting it to the existing line leading to the project's rainwater collection basin, which will also soon be developed to accommodate the quantities of rainwater arriving to it.
This project aims to protect residents and their property from the risks of rainwater flooding during the winter season and serves more than 20,000 people.
CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality, will also begin constructing a sanitation network in Jourat Al-Lut in Khan Younis, 1.6km long, with the project eliminating cesspits in the area to protect the environment, residents' health, and the groundwater aquifer from pollution.
In cooperation with Jabalia Municipality, a rainwater and sanitation network will also be constructed to avoid the flooding problem resulting from rainfall during the winter season on Al-Quds Street "Al-Dakhiliya area" (from Al-Jarn roundabout to Zammo roundabout) in Jabalia city, north of the Gaza Strip.
