CMWU developed a recovery plan for water supplies east of Khan Younis, including rubber tanks and repair of the Cultural Center plant in Bani Suheila.
As a continuation of the activities carried out by CMWU in Khan Younis Governorate, an assessment and survey of the damage sustained by the water supply system east of Khan Younis Governorate has begun, with a recovery plan for water supplies developed.
The plan includes distributing 5-cubic-meter rubber water tanks to be installed in population centers, funded by Oxfam, with the tanks supplied with water via water tankers received from the United Arab Emirates, in addition to rented tankers, and in parallel, some wells that can be repaired will be repaired, and the Cultural Center desalination plant in Bani Suheila will also be repaired, with a capacity of 1,200 cubic meters/day, and this plant will be the main source of water supply for citizens, with the Red Cross covering the maintenance works.
This work comes to strengthen citizens' resilience and enable them to return to their places of residence.
