UNDP, funded by the World Bank and in cooperation with CMWU, is establishing an emergency water filling point west of Gaza serving up to 100,000 displaced persons.
With funds from the World Bank and in cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority and CMWU, UNDP is constructing an emergency water filling point west of Gaza along the Mekorot line in the designated safe zone, despite the challenging circumstances.
Once completed, the station will supply up to 600 cubic meters of water per day for potable water trucks. This will be especially critical when access to the main filling point in Shuja'iyya is disrupted. The facility is expected to serve up to 100,000 displaced persons during emergencies.
Access to safe and clean water remains a vital lifeline for displaced communities, particularly under the harsh conditions in Gaza.
