CMWU, with Emirati support, began constructing the transmission line from the Emirati desalination plant to the Saudi neighborhood reservoir in Rafah.
Funded by the sisterly United Arab Emirates, and through the humanitarian mission of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, work has begun on implementing the project to construct the transmission line for desalinated water from the Emirati seawater desalination plant west of Rafah toward the water reservoir in the Saudi neighborhood, which will enable pumping this water toward the various areas, neighborhoods, and displacement gatherings in the Rafah area. The Emirati desalination plant has a production capacity of 2,400 cubic meters per day and was established, operated, and brought into service on 20/12/2023 on the Egyptian side of the border, with desalinated water delivered through cross-border pipes toward the Palestinian side.
