CMWU, with funding from UNICEF, has continued to establish a water desalination plant in the main CMWU warehouses west of Khan Younis Governorate with a production capacity of 50 m3/hour, to supply water to shelters in Khan Younis city and surrounding areas by providing a point to fill mobile water tanks used to supply water to shelters. The project will also establish and install a water filling point for gallons to serve residents and displaced persons in areas adjacent to the desalination plant, where the number of beneficiaries from the station is expected to reach about 60,000 displaced persons.
