CMWU, funded by UNICEF, received four solar-powered desalination plants, the first of their kind in Gaza, to distribute to Rafah and shelter centers.
CMWU today received, funded by UNICEF, 4 desalination plants, the first of their kind in the Gaza Strip, as these plants operate on solar power and are distinguished by their ability to desalinate various types of water, including seawater.
CMWU's crews began installing one of these plants inside Rafah city, in order to provide drinking water to residents and displaced persons inside Rafah city, particularly amid the continuing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the difficult conditions residents are living.
These plants will also be installed at four shelter centers inside Rafah city, given the large numbers of displaced persons present in Rafah city, where about 1.5 million people are present inside Rafah city.
Each of these plants has a capacity of 16 cubic meters per day, and is pre-equipped and of the portable, bag-based type, to facilitate the transport process from one place to another.
