CMWU, funded by the European Union, began replacing the old sewage network in Al-Manshiya, Beit Lahia.
CMWU, in partnership with Action Against Hunger and funded by the European Union - Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) - and in cooperation with Beit Lahia Municipality, has begun implementing the old sewage network replacement project in the Al-Manshiya area in Beit Lahia city, north of the Gaza Strip, through which the old network will be replaced with another new one, 850 meters long.
The project aims to end residents' suffering due to sewage water overflow and the resulting spread of health and environmental hazards resulting from the damage to the old sewage network.
This comes within the framework of efforts aimed at improving water and sanitation services and developing networks in various areas of the Gaza Strip, through constructing sewage networks in the targeted areas and replacing old lines in order to protect the groundwater aquifer and the surrounding environment from pollution.
