Repeat Repair of the Mekorot Water Line Feeding Khan Younis After It Was Damaged Again by Bombardment

CMWU re-repaired the Mekorot line feeding Khan Younis after it was damaged again by bombardment just hours after its previous repair.

CMWU, in cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority and with support from Oxfam, repaired and maintained the Mekorot water line feeding Khan Younis Governorate, after it sustained severe damage as a result of continued Israeli bombardment and military operations in the area.

The Utility had completed maintenance on the line days earlier, but it was damaged again just hours after the repair due to bombardment, requiring immediate intervention to carry out additional maintenance works to ensure the continued flow of water.

The Mekorot line is one of the most prominent water sources in Khan Younis, forming a vital artery for securing drinking water for residents, particularly amid the worsening humanitarian crisis and the increasing number of displaced persons in the western areas of the governorate.
