
A field tour by the Director-General of the municipalities of the Central Governorate to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and develop water and sanitation services.
CMWU's Director-General Visits a Number of Municipalities in the Central Governorate

CMWU's Director-General Eng. Monther Shoblaq conducted a field tour during which he visited a number of municipalities in the Central Governorate, accompanied on this tour by Mr. Mamdouh Al-Ghazali, Deputy Director-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, with this tour including a visit to Nuseirat Municipality and Deir al-Balah Municipality, in addition to Al-Bureij and Al-Maghazi municipalities.
This tour aims to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between CMWU and the municipalities and work to develop the services provided to residents, and overcome all the obstacles facing the work of the Utility and the municipalities and the projects implemented, operated, and supervised by the Utility in cooperation with the municipalities, and to learn about the state of water and sanitation services in the Central Governorate.
In turn, the mayors welcomed the visit of CMWU's Director-General Eng. Monther Shoblaq, expressing their appreciation for the efforts CMWU is exerting in the process of developing water and sanitation facilities in the Gaza Strip, in addition to its effort and continuous communication with all the municipalities of the Central Governorate and the rest of the Strip's municipalities in order to continue improving the water services provided to residents, particularly amid signs of improvement in water quality in numerous areas, in addition to the efforts made by CMWU in cooperation with the municipalities in order to improve the sewage collection and treatment system.
In this context, Eng. Monther Shoblaq affirmed CMWU's attention and keenness, along with its partners among the national institutions, particularly the Palestinian Water Authority, the Ministry of Local Government, and the municipalities, to advance service projects related to water and sanitation in the Central Governorate and all governorates of the Gaza Strip, with support and cooperation from the international partners working in the water sector, and this despite the numerous challenges facing the Gaza Strip, foremost among them the economic situation and the electricity crisis.
